Love & Malice
Sex, love and romance in the 1960s
Produced by Blue Trumpet for Radio 2RRR, Love & Malice explores 1960s attitudes to sex, love, and romance through the music of the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and Bob Dylan.
Episode 3: You’re gonna give your love to me
In this episode, James and Ray look at the escalating Beatlemania of 1963. About a year behind them, the Rolling Stones are still reliant on covers to get their message across. But what a different message it was. Already their choice of material set the direction for their long romance with destiny. At the same time, Bob Dylan is beginning to offer a different view of romance, stamped with his persona as a rootless troubadour.
